Are you considering an international school for your child?

Are you moving to a different country or city, and need to find the right international school for your child?

There are many different reasons why you might be looking for an international school, and there are many factors to consider when deciding on an international school.

To start with, it is not always clear what an international school is.

According to ISC Research, there are more than 10,000 international schools worldwide and this number keeps growing. For ISC Research a school is considered international if it delivers its curriculum wholly or partly in English, outside an English-speaking country, or if the school offers another national curriculum and has an international orientation, when it is in an English-speaking country.

However, SCHOOL IN also lists international schools as those who offer a different national curriculum than the country they are in, despite the curriculum not being in English. German, French or Japanese schools are good examples.

The curriculum is one of the most important factors you might consider when choosing an international school. This can range from the most traditional and academic focused curriculum, like the British Curriculum, to the recently popular and more holistic International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum. It also includes all national curricula, such as the American, French or German, among others.

When choosing the curriculum of the international school, you need to consider:

       –       The type of education or the learning style that better suits your child and that you prefer.

       –       The availability of the same curriculum in other countries or cities, in case you had to move.

       –       The university path (which university your child will attend and how this curriculum is recognized).

With SCHOOL IN, you can now learn other parents’ thoughts and opinions about international schools.

Just select the city or location. If you are looking for a specific curriculum, you can narrow down your search by selecting that specific curriculum.
